WTF?
Another luxurious high-performance green, energy efficiency building… Perfectly designed… Stylishly sophisticated… Sumptuously serviced… Gracefully indulged… Chef’s kitchens… Spa inspired baths… Hello?
justify;”>I know this is happening all over the world, but I think things are getting ridiculous in Boston. Wherever you spot a construction crane, there’s a sign with the word “luxury” on it.
If you’d like to see the building’s floor plans, click the image below. Floor plans include metric measurements, which kind of explains who the targeted market is. A one bedroom apartment sells for $775,000…
Presently, people can’t afford to buy a condo in the city because everything new is luxury and when older homes/buildings are renovated they are also gentrified. And rental prices are simply beyond ridiculous. Is Boston heading in the right direction with all of these new projects? The city is looking better than ever but, at this pace, who will be able to afford to live here in, say, ten years?
Will developers build normal buildings for normal people ever again? I don’t know, and maybe I am incredibly obtuse, but… Wouldn’t you think that decent looking mid-rises, with standard kitchens/bathrooms/services and sensible prices is what Bostonians really need?
