Cheap and fun

Take yer bike out for a ride and head to the North End. Cross the Charlestown bridge, ride around City Square and Bunker Hill Monument, explore the Charlestown Navy Yard and hop on the Inner Harbor Ferry (bikes are allowed).

Many of the people who frequent this blog live within an hour’s drive of Boston. I hope they’ll find this post useful. I will share more inexpensive daytrip ideas in the coming weeks.

Street Cred
The NYC bike messenger is the epitomizes New York on edge. These people put their life on the line for little money and no benefits. Of course, a comparison to the Police or Fire Department is unfair - bike messengers are not public servants hired to -Street Cred

Parade time!
The city is going to be wicked busy this weekend with two major parades. Bunker Hill Day parade, in Charlestown, commemorating the crucial 1775 battle against the British during the American Revolution.And the 2008 Boston Pride parade; the theme this -Parade time!

So long, farewell…
Between moving to a different country, work, travel, training for fundraiser walks, going back to school, etc... we've got so much on our plates that it's time to take something off, and unfortunately this project is it. It's been really fun doing th -So long, farewell…

The Longfellow, a troubled bridge.
I took these night shots of workers replacing steel ties on the Longfellow Bridge earlier this month, a couple of days before state officials closed one of the bridge's sidewalks. 700 ties have been replaced so far, but the beautiful old bridge is in -The Longfellow, a troubled bridge.
